You can also use that if you did get events and you don't want them because you live out of the Lansing area.

Are you in a rut?

Have you been on raw food for a while and don’t feel as great as when you first started?  Did you loose a bunch of weight in the beginning but can’t seem to shed those last 5-15 pounds?  Are you still eating all raw but you don’t have much energy?

Let’s take a look at what you are eating.  Do you have a smoothie for breakfast with a bunch of nuts.  Or maybe a raw food pie with a nut crust.  Maybe you have a seed cheese wrap for lunch and a handful of nuts mid day for a snack.  Then for dinner you have a nut loaf and some cauliflower/avocado potatoes.  You may be getting too much fat.   Sure you are eating all raw food but you don’t have enough fruits and veggies in your diet.  No matter which diet style you choose 9-12 fruit and vegetable servings are still the ultimate diet.  Yes we need some fats in our diet but not very many.  Just a small handful or only ½ an avocado per day.  You should have lots of fruit for breakfast, maybe a green smoothie midday or for lunch then more fruit before dinner and a large salad.  Here at dinner is where you should have a bit of fat.  You can use a few nuts in your salad and just squeeze some orange juice over the greens.  Or you can blend some fruit and nuts for the dressing.  If you eliminate the fats and  make sure you are eating lots of fruit and greens those last pesky pounds will drop away and you will get your energy back.  It worked for me.

Book Review

Green for Life by Victoria Boutenko
This is the book that started the green smoothie revolution.  Lots of fruit and some greens with a bit of water and blend.  That is Victoria’s formula.  She explains in the book all the research she did to come up with this combination.  She tells about her trial with 30 people and the results they experienced.  I like how she explains all her research and the reasons for adding more fruit and greens to your diet.   It is a great book with several recipes to get you started on your own green smoothie binge.  Once you get started the beautiful skin, abundant energy and improved health you experience will convince you too.
