Swine Flu, What shall I do? May newsletter

Hi Everyone,
Our next potluck is this coming Monday May 4th at 6:00 at First Christian Church, 1001 Chester, Lansing MI

Our speaker this month will be raw foodist and speaker Joyce Oliveto.  Joyce has been director of Creative Health Institute and traveled widely with Ann Wigmore.  She is a raw food instructor and health advocate and she will be speaking with us about kirelian photography.  You will be able to see the differences in live VS dead food.  Should be a real eye opener.

Come join us for some great food and great discussion.  Joyce is always a pleasure to hear and will have an answer for any raw food question you may have.

The swine flu is huge in the news right now and lots of people are wanting to panic about it.  But there is no need.

First of all if you are on a raw food diet your body is very alkaline and your immune system is very strong.  Virus don't like alkaline and what ever gets past that will be handled by your immune system.

If you want more assurance there are 2 very effective ways to protect yourself besides what you are already doing by eating raw foods.  They are homeopathy and essential oils.

So keep eating those green smoothies and fresh fruit and read on as I explain both methods.

OILS

Not all essential oils are created equal.  In order for oils to be helpful in the prevention or treatment of any malady they must be therapeutic grade oils.  There are only a couple in the USA.  The easiest to order from is Young Living Essential Oils

For the flu I recommend a regimen of Thieves and ImmuPower.  Both are blends of oils designed to boost your immune system and protect you from flu, candida, colds and many other conditions. They will work as a preventative or curative.  Put 3 drops of one on your feet and 3 drops of the other on your chest and then rotate the location each day.  Once a day will be enough.

You can order yourself from Young Living Essential Oils by joining (no fees to join) for a discount price  or just being a regular customer.  I will also have at least the Thieves in a roll-on form at the potluck and you can purchase in that form.

Thieves oil was formulated in ancient times by 'thieves' who were robbing the bodies of plague victims without getting sick themselves.  When they were finally caught they were given a lighter sentence in return for sharing the recipe.  It's a blend or oils high in the properties of anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-biotic.  It can work on many ailments.  Give me a call to talk more about this.

HOMEOPATHY

Homeopathic medicines have been used in Europe much more extensively than in the US and they have always had great results.  The homeopathic for flu is Oscillococcinum.  I know I have seen this at both Health Food stores so it should be very easy to locate.  You can take a couple of tablets twice a day as preventative or as directed on the package as a curative.  It is very sensitive to other substances so do not touch it with your fingers and take it 1/2 hour before or after eating.  Coffee should be avoided for an hour before and after.

Readers Digest Article

This is very interesting.  An article in the Readers Digest with the title "A New Way to Keep Bones Strong"  I'm just going to type it word for word.  This was in the March 09 edition.

"You already know you need plenty of calcium and vitamin D to keep your bones strong.  But surprising new research suggests that another dietary move is just as important.  The key: go easy on the carbs and sub in more fruits and veggies.

It's a matter of chemistry.  When you digest carbohydrates, the process turns your innards slightly acidic.  That's a problem because a high-acid environment leaches calcium from bone, says Tufts University Researcher Bess Dawson-Hughes, MD.  In contrast, fruits and vegetables create a skeleton-friendly alkaline environment.  The American diet tends to be acid-producing---Particularly hard on older people, whose kidneys can't clear acid compounds as quickly.

In Dr. Dawson-Hughes' new study, an alkaline supplement lowered the amount of calcium that volunteers excreted by 20 percent.  That supplement isn't currently available outside research labs, but, says Dr. Dawson-Hughes, you can get the same benefit by tweaking your diet.  Her skeleton-strengthening guidelines: Include at least two vegetable or fruit servings at every meal, and eat no more than two daily servings of carbs like bread, cereal, and pasta."

We have been preaching all this in the raw food movement for years.  It is gratifying to see it in a main stream publication.
