Pie a little heavier than the cooked version but with a great flavor
Crust
1/2 c sunflower seeds
1 1/2c raisins
1 t cinnamon
Filling
1/2 c black mission figs
1/2 c pitted dates
1 c pumpkin or squash
3/4 c walnuts or 1/2 c pine nuts
1 T orange peel
1 t cinnamon
1/4 t ground clove
1/2 t nutmeg
Crust
soak sunflower seeds 5 hours and drain
soak raisins 1 hour
grind seeds and 1 c raisins in food processor or champion, mix in cinnamon
press into bottom and sides of 9"" pie plate. If too thin add ground oatmeal
Filling
soak figs 2 hours in 1/4 c water
soak dates 2 hour in 1/4 c water
grate fine the pumpkin or squash or put through champion with the blank
drain soaked fruit
Blend all ingredients till creamy
Pour into crust and spread evenly
Arrange remaining raisins to form rim
refrigerate 4 hours or overnight
Refrigerate up to 3 days
