Bakeless Apple Tart


Apples and walnuts to make a good imitation of apple tart.


2 c walnuts, plus more for garnish   
1 1/2 c dates, pitted   
3 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced into 1/4 inch wedges   
1 c raisins   
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, plus more for garnish   
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg   
4 TBSP freshly squeezed lemon juice


In a food processor, puree 2 c walnuts into a fine powder, transfer to a bowl   
Finely chop the dates and add to same bowl   
Knead the mixture into a dough, press into a 9 in pie plate   
refrigerate overnight   
Same day in a different bowl, mix apple wedges, raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg   
and lemon juice and refrigerate overnight   
the next day, spoon the apple mixture into the pie plate   
arrange 6 wedges on top and garnish with additional cinnamon and walnuts
