An excellent substitute for pepperoni on pizza, in calzones and salads
4 ounces of dried tomatoes
5 teaspoons or less according to your taste teaspoons of sea salt
1 -2 drops of stevia
2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper
3 teaspoons of paprika
1 teaspoon of crushed anise seed
1teaspoon of garlic powder
1 cup of dry red wine
(wine is raw, but if wine is not an option for you, as a substitute you may
use 1/2 cup wine vinegar and a 1/2 cup of water with a squeeze of
Stir all ingredients together except the tomatoes.
Pour the liquid over the dried tomatoes and stir until they are moistened.
Let sit a couple of hours or overnight in the refrigerator to enhance the flavor.
Drain before using
Can add to salad for a meat flavor
